Privacy Policy

This policy explains how B4-Edtech Private Limited (“B4 Academy”, “we”) handles personal data when you use the RIBS by B4 Academy mobile app and its related services (“RIBS”).

Who we are

B4-Edtech Private Limited (CIN U74140KL2022PTC073341), registered office: 69/1184, Second Floor, Sitara Complex, East Nadakkave, Wayanad Road, Kozhikode, Kerala 673006, India. We are responsible for the personal data described here.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, mobile number, password (stored in protected form, never readable by staff) and, if you add it, a contact email.
• Profile details: whether you are a student, healthcare professional, employee, entrepreneur or other; your course and year, or your profession, job role or business; and your college, hospital or company.
• Learning activity: lessons opened, your place in videos, how much of each video was played, quiz answers and scores, lessons marked done, and bookmarks.
• Community activity: posts, replies, photos, likes, connections, blocks and reports.
• Technical data: basic records needed to sign you in, keep the service secure and deliver video and images.

How we use it

• To create your account, and for B4 staff to review and approve access.
• To provide courses, track your progress and resume lessons.
• To contact you on your mobile number about your account and courses, such as course updates.
• To run the community, including moderating reports.
• To help B4 understand who uses RIBS, in overall numbers such as members by type or organisation.
• To keep RIBS secure and to meet legal obligations.

We rely on your consent, which you give by creating an account, and on the other grounds permitted by Indian law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Who can see your data

• Other members can see your name, posts, replies and photos, and on your profile when you joined and how many posts and connections you have. They cannot see your mobile number, email or organisation.
• B4 staff can see your account and profile details, when you last signed in and your learning activity, to run RIBS and support you.
• Service providers process data for us: Supabase (accounts, data and files), Cloudflare (lesson videos and images) and Vercel (website hosting). They may process data outside India.

Videos show your name and the last four digits of your mobile number as a watermark, on your own screen, to discourage copying. We do not sell your personal data and we do not show advertising in RIBS.

If you earn a certificate, your name, course and dates are printed on it. Anyone who scans its QR code can see those details and whether the certificate is valid, so that employers and institutions can check it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. When your account is deleted, we remove your personal details and activity as described below. We may keep limited records where needed for safety, moderation, staff accountability logs or legal reasons, such as the text of content that has been reported.

Delete your account

In the RIBS app, go to Profile and choose Request account deletion. If you cannot sign in, email hello@b4academy.in with your name and registered mobile number. B4 staff will confirm the request and then:

• remove your name, mobile number, email and profile details, and close your account;
• delete your progress, quiz results, bookmarks, connections, likes and notifications;
• remove your posts, replies and photos.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw your consent, or raise a grievance. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India. Withdrawing consent may mean you can no longer use RIBS.

Children

RIBS is intended for adults and for students of college age. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian to use RIBS. Contact us if you believe a child has registered without it.

Security

We use access controls, private storage and expiring links to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
